I finally caught a break in the weather, I didn’t get to run in 90 degree temps again today, it was only 85 when I finished
.
Oh well, I think I am starting to get acclimated to the heat, because I ran the 6.0 mile course that I found out here about 3:30 minutes faster today than I have been running it. Actually I think having a really easy day yesterday, gave my legs and body a chance to rest a little, which I have a feeling that it needs.
More than likely when I fly back to Maine tomorrow, it will result in a day off from running, so that will be my rest day and I will break this running streak that I got going by accident. We will see on this one.
No I do like running out here, the hills don’t seem as steep, as they do in Maine or may it has to do that it is a little safer running out here, even though there is a lot more traffic?
There are huge sidewalks (hell some of them would be considered roads in Maine) and plenty of room on the side of the road to avoid vehicles, which is nice, compared to Maine. Where most of the time I am running either on the road or in the ditch.
Overall, today’s run was very comfortable and I felt really good.
I really like running in the Altra Instinct’s so far! Though today the left shoe lace kept coming untied (I know how to fix that) and the right heel area still felt a little sore or like it wanted to almost form a blister, but it didn’t – not sure of why. Will take a closer look at the shoe and probably do some bending of the heel counter (it is very flexible) to see if I can get it to mold more to my heel.
The distance has been corrected to 6.08 instead of 6.2. Not that it really makes that much of a difference
.
I wonder if the Son-In-Law will want to run a couple later on today, if he does, I will definitely go out again.
